3D printing is the perfect solution for prototyping complex parts and assemblies. Although the print time can be very long depending on the size, the cost and time savings can still be immense. Instead of spending hour after hour on several different machines, costing hundreds of dollars, you can just send your files to us to print!
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials can you use in 3D printing?
We print the majority of our parts from PLA; a low cost, rigid plastic that prints very well. It’s available in a wide variety of colors. We can also print from ABS and TPU.
How accurate is 3D printing?
3D printing is fairly accurate. Depending on the part, +/- 0.02″ is using a safe tolerance. Because of the heat involved, sometimes parts can slightly bend and flex if printed the wrong way or if they have large overhangs.
I’m preparing files for 3D printing. What format should I send?
STL files are the main file used in all 3D printers (including us), but you can send an IGES, STEP, or other 3D file and we can covert with ease.
What can be 3D printed?
Almost anything! We can print complex shapes with holes, slots, lettering, and more. Jobs print best if they can be orientated in a way that limits the number and size of overhangs (see above for more details).
What is the maximum size you can 3D print?
The maximum size we can print is 8″ X 8″ X 8″
Do you have a MOQ or minimum charge 3D printing?
No! We often print small parts in single quantities.
What is the turnaround time for 3D printing?
If the print size is small and we have the desired color in stock, we can ship or deliver a job within only 1-2 days. If the print size is larger, it can take 3-4.
How much does 3D printing cost?
It all depends on the part! Very small jobs with STL files already made can cost as little as $20.00. Pricing depends on size of the part, the time it takes to print, the color and material, the cleanliness of the file, the overhang risk and more. Just contact us with your drawings and we’ll get you an accurate cost of your job!
